“ Came in here as part of a detour to grab a drink and use the loo after I decided to turn my quick walk around Fox Hagg into an impromptu day hike across the Peak District. Ended up getting some food while I was there and wow! It was absolutely gorgeous, cooked to perfection and excellently presented! The atmosphere was super chilled, quiet and intimate, was exactly what I needed before I got going again. Will be coming here again for sure! ”
“ Motorhome pub stop The most dog friendly pub we have ever visited. Called a few days an advance to check availability and booked table for dinner. Busy pub with amazing friendly staff. Playground for children at rear of pub woth a public footpath to a very steep walk. Food was lovely and doggy dinner available also (4) busy car park on our Sat night stay but very quiet by 10.30. We would definitely come back. ”
“ Really good find after long walk from peak district.. Super vegan sunday dinner, just what we needsled. High quality food and great price and super friendly service. Recommended from me, good for veggies and vegans. ”
“ We’ve just eaten lunch and the only thing I can complain about is the fact that the food was that lovely it didn’t leave me enough room for a dessert! Absolutely lovely food and great staff service. We’ve just discovered our new favourite pub. ”
“ My partner and myself came here today and had a lovely dinner. There was a wait for food, which we were well informed about before we decided to order. The food actually came out earlier than we were told which was great. The food was hot and well presented. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. We'll definitely be eating here more often. ”
“ We thoroughly enjoyed our experience here! The food, service, atmosphere was lovely. We booked for 8 people including a child and we were placed in a comfy seating area next to a real fireplace (very accessible to our older family members near a disabled bathroom). We were kept warm the whole time. The drinks were served immediately while the food was served within about 20 mins. Our daughter played outside in the kids play area which we were so thankful for! A 3 year old can be tricky in restaurants without anything to play with. The food was well priced and incredibly tasty, I suggest the fish and chips! The only thing that wasn’t the best were the women’s toilets, there was water everywhere when we visited. Nevertheless, we will be coming here again, thank you! ”
“ Fantastic pub. Awesome pie and great beer selection. Even do a special meal for dogs. Fantastic access to walks in nearby woods and up to the moors. Ideal stopover in our campervan. ”
“ Great little accidental find after we just did a walk in the peaks and needed some respite, lovely and cosy inside with a lovely fire and big TV, service was friendly, quick and easy. We only had some puddings, but they were delicious and great that dogs are allowed as well. Lovely big car park, toilets were clean ”
